Steve Albers keeps messing with thickened, colored fields. I would just like a few, good lines. LET’S GET THIS SHIT TOGETHER.

Sorry, I’ve yet to figure out a good way to make contour plots (using our custom FORTRAN code) as simple line drawings. I actually enjoy making the color plots though. One compromise is to make discontinuous changes in the colors.

HAVE YOUR FUNS, but I have my agenda in FIZZIKS. It does look like you have set a very near-field limit at ‘k’, tho, good to see only undefined white space inside. I suggest a few stringey things….. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.Can you paintbrush in a few??

Field lines are of course the end result arrived at by integrating the gradients. I think it’s useful to check the field intensity to make sure it’s right. Otherwise we’d have no real idea why the field lines are off from what is expected.

Got caught here by the word police. The use of “gradient” was a clumsy use of what I meant which is the “vector E-field”. On the other hand, this E-field the gradient of the potential, at least classically.
WHOSE E-FIELD IS A GRADIENT? MINE IS NOT. IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS, YOU ARE FIRED.

Thus is the question about plotting field lines vs field intensity, or about plotting a scalar field using colors or lines? I WANT TO SEE A FEW GOOD LINES. I know goddam well what analyzes how.

Do you mean lines of equal scalar field intensity or the vector E-field? The former would take me some time to devise with our FORTRAN custom abilities. There’s also GNUPLOT to explore as an alternative.

Simply showing the vector E-field, without also examining the intermediate calculations, is difficult to assess the reasons if it is off the mark. WHAT MARK??? YOU GIVE ME NOT ENOUGH CREDIT. Our process is possible… but I do not need you.

Well – if you can look at the field lines (see new email) and tell me either if it is right, or what in detail needs to be fixed, then please tell me so. GAUNTLETS, a good challenge, yes.

Yes, I can make some dancing strings?

Sure, you might try to read Alexander’s string theory hereabouts… HAAAAAA. I am proudly ignorant except on some EM questions we did go with.
STEVEN, here you must acceed to what I need. This is my project and I am moving along with surprise. I am a mathematical analyst and hope you can respect what I know and say I need, here and now. It might or might not be interesting to me, reading of your ups and downs with color plots !!! RESPECT MY TIME.

I hope we can chill a bit on whose musings or time is more important. I like to think of joint projects as shared journeys.
